Tips for Silk Products -
- Dusting the stem and leaves with a feather duster or lamb's wool is great or use, the brush tool attachment on your vacuum works. This works well with silk plants and trees.
- Check to see if there is a label on the plant specifying if it is water-resistant. If there is no label, you could apply a small amount of water to an inconspicuous leaf to test for water-resistance.

- Water-resistant plants may be gently misted with a sprayer or for larger items take them outside and use a gentle setting on a hose attachment. Before misting remove any filler that is not water-resistance from the bottom of the silk plant, dry plants in a place out of direct sunlight as some silk plants or trees may loose color in direct sunlight.
- Using a small amount of white vinegar or dishwashing liquid could clean plants that may be heavily soiled. Mist on the soiled area, scrub lightly with a soft bristle toothbrush or rub with a soft cotton cloth to remove build up. Rinse thoroughly as vinegar or dishwashing liquid residue attracts dirt. Remember, check to see if the silk plant is water-resistant.
Tip or two -
- Dusting the silk plant at least once a month, you should only have to wash it once or twice a year if it is water-resistant.
- Some silk plants should not get wet. Simply dust with a dry cloth more frequently to avoid buildup.
Natural Wreaths –
Direct sunlight and humidity are the two worst enemies of dried arrangements. Subtle muting of colors and natural patina will occur over time. Dri-Splendor can be a very effective product for rejuvenating dried arrangements that have accumulated dust.
